Mission
The Women’s Cooperative Association of Al-Disseh Basin Villages is located in the Al-Dissehdistrict, in the Wadi Rum area of southern Jordan. The association includes women from five Bedouin villages, representing the indigenous communities of the region. As of now, the association has 305 female members.
The cooperative’s mission is to empower women across all aspects of life, ensuring that women play an active role in the development of their local communities. The cooperative strives to create job opportunities for women in order to alleviate poverty and reduce unemployment.
Objectives
1. Empowering women in all areas of life
2. Developing a spirit of cooperation between its members and those who deal with them from groups and individuals.
3. Combating unemployment
4. Establishing a fund for education, social services and emergencies and encouraging higher studies by providing loans to students in need.
5. Developing the culture of women and children to the level that qualifies them to participate in all national, Arab and international issues.
6. Spreading the cooperative movement in the environment and helping to spread the coop-erative movement by all means, cooperating with other cooperative societies, and affiliation with any other bodies in support of the activities of the association and members alike.
