Disi Women recently participated as a keynote speaker in the national dialogue “Tawasol,” organized by Arab Renaissance for Democracy and Development (ARDD) in partnership with UN Women in Amman, where founder Qutnah M ALhwetat spoke about empowering Bedouin women and strengthening local crisis response.
Disi Women also took part in a workshop with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) under the TAZIZ Project for enhancing resilience of biodiversity hotspots in Jordan, which brought together women from Shoubak, Petra, Udhruh, and Al-Deeseh. The workshop focused on networking, cooperation, and establishing the “South Women for Nature Conservation” network, and included a field visit to the Disi Women Association to learn about its nursery and activities.
In addition, Disi Women also recently achieved a major environmental milestone by planting 10,000 seedlings of native endangered plant species in Wadi Rum Nature Reserve, in collaboration with the local community, strengthening women’s role in environmental protection and sustainable development.
