The 30th of March is Palestinian Land Day.
On this day, Palestinians honor those who lost their lives protesting land confiscation in 1976. Since then, Palestinian Land Day has become a powerful symbol of Palestinian resilience and resistance, and their ongoing struggle for land rights and self-determination, which is more relevant than ever given the dire situation.
In the West Bank, where our members are based, we are now witnessing mass displacement, a sharp rise in civilian deaths, widespread demolitions, severe restrictions on humanitarian access, and an unprecedented escalation in settler violence. The occupation has reached a critical peak.
On March 18th, following the break in the ceasefire in Gaza, UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese warned of the need for urgent action to “protect Palestinians from annihilation” in both Gaza and the West Bank because "Israeli forces and settler militias have escalated violence in the West Bank".
